Best of Wroclaw
Wroclaw brings western Poland to life. It is a city that has a history of 1,000 years that serves as its foundation for what it is dong today.
Many visitors make their way to the Market Square upon arrival and for good reason. This gathering place is classic Europe from the Renaissance and is a multicultural gathering point that is warm and welcoming. Buildings in the square date to the 13th century.
Ostrow Tumski is the oldest part of the city, however, with parts of the Wroclaw Cathedral constructed in the middle of the 10th century. It was formerly an isolated island in the Oder River, called Cathedral Island, which made it a naturally defensible position. Defensive walls were built to protect a population of about 1,500 people that lived on the island at the time.
A new addition to Wroclaw is the Pan Tadeusz Museum. It is located within the building of the Golden Sun and offers workshops, interactive exhibits, and educational opportunities that are perfect for the entire family.
Be sure to visit Centennial Hall, a heritage site that was designated in 2006. It was renovated in 2009, but originally constructed in 1911, based on plans by Max Berg.
Wroclaw is colorful, beautiful, and offers you plenty of space to go explore. Find your way to these streets and you will have an incredible experience.
