Visit Pag

Located just a short distance from Zadar, Pag is known for being home to some of the best beaches in Croatia, making it is a great place to
enjoy a slice of tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of the popular towns. With sweeping hills, cultural hotspots and oodles of historic charm spilling from its Venetian spires, this little island certainly packs a punch.

On the island of Pag, you’ll find that through most of the year, there is a larger sheep population than a human population. It is an island that on the surface seem stark, barren, and difficult to sustain life. As you approach Pag, however, you’ll find that the beaches are beautiful and the nightlife is incredibly energetic. This is especially true during the busy July and August holiday season.

Several clubs cater to those who are looking to have a great time, no matter what time of day it may be. Club Papaya and Club Aquarius are the grandfathers of the nightlife scene here, but they still bring in a young audience with the all-day, all-night energy that has created such a vibrant atmosphere.

Many of the spots are open-air clubs, especially around Novalja, offering venues that support the local summer music festivals. Pag Town offers a summer and a winter carnival and both feature the pasko kolo, a traditional folk dance on the island.

If the club scene isn’t for you, there are still plenty of options. The 15th century Church of the Assumption in Pag Town has a beautiful stone rose window. Next to the Benedictine Monastery is the Church of St. Margaret and it is still active, performing plenty of charity work on the island every year. There is also the Pag Lace Museum to explore and you can browse through the ruins of Pag’s Old Town.

You can come to Pag to party an entire holiday, head out to the beach, or go exploring. If you like a high-energy holiday, then you’re going to love what this island can offer.

Vacation on Island of Pag with kids

Family holidays to Pag wouldn’t be complete without enjoying the 27 kilometres of lush sandy beach. However, if you’re interested in enjoying a stone beach, then visit the western side of the island. But the best destination for families is Sveti Duh beach as it is completely sandy and very shallow. For a truly unique experience in Pag spend an afternoon at Slana beach where you can hear eagles crying in the cliffs.
