Visit Gdansk

Gdanks brings you right to the Baltic Coast. It is the principal seaport of Poland and offers visitors access to surviving buildings that date to the Hanseatic League. Make you way to Long Market, Long Street, and Royal Way to enjoy many of the city’s main sights in one location.

That includes the Upland Gate, the Prison Tower, the Uphagen House, and Neptune’s Fountain.

Gdanks has numerous churches that have add to the historical flavors that the city offers to a visitor. St. Mary is notable due to its status as a municipal church, built in the 15th century. It is currently thought to be one of the largest brick churches in the world today.

Stop by the National Museum in Gdansk to see some important art exhibits, including Last Judgment by Hans Memling. The SS Soldek is permanently anchored on the Motlawa River and allows you to tour the first ship that was built in Poland after the war.

If you enjoy theater, then the Shakespeare Theater is a place you’ll want to be. It was built on a 17th century site where English playwrights traveling through the region would stop and perform for the local population. An annual Shakespearean festival is held at the theater as well.

The 17th century fortifications throughout the city are numerous, with a handful of gates in excellent condition. Then make your way outside the historic city center to enjoy Oliwa Park, the lighthouse in Nowy Port, and the Wisloujscie Fortress.

Gdansk offers visitors the chance to experience Poland in an authentic way. That makes it the perfect destination today.
