Visit Cheb

Colorful Cheb provides visitors with the classic experience found within the Czech Republic. Located near the border with Germany, you’ll find that the regional influences have helped to shape the community into a colorful experience. A tour of George of Podebrady Square will confirm those initial first impressions.

The Chapel of St. Erhard and Urshula is one of the primary landmarks of the city. Located at the 12^th century Cheb Castle, which is mostly in ruins, the chapel joins the Black Tower and what remains of the palace for a lovely historic tour. The chapel is a two-story building, with polygonal columns, including statues, which depict various sins.

Make your way to the Market Place and you’ll find a group of unique houses. Designed in the Spalicek period, these colorful homes offer distinctive designs within a complex of 11 total structures. The outline of these two blocks is present in the oldest known records of the city, dating back to 1472.

There is also the Church of St. Nicholas, which was built in the 13^th century and was originally a 3-nave basilica. In the 18^th century, the tower was rebuilt with a Baroqe cupola. The twin steeples were destroyed in the 1940s and finally restored in 2008.
