Visit Antigua and Barbuda

Although named after the twin major islands of the country, Antigua and Barbuda have several smaller islands that make up its total land space. Called “The Land of 365 Beaches,” the coastal landscapes have been perfectly created for a relaxing week of sunshine, sand, and calm waves.

The culture of Antigua and Barbuda is quite unique. It’s a combination of West African and British cultures. You’ll find that football, cricket, and surfing make up many of the preferred local activities on the islands. US cultural influences are present as well, especially from a fashion standpoint. Frequent trips to Puerto Rico are a way of life on these islands.

If you find yourself in Antigua and Barbuda in August, then reserve some time to enjoy the national Carnival. It is a celebration that commemorates the abolition of slavery. Some of the islands will also host a Carnival to celebrate the coming of lent. There are numerous contests, shows, and pageants as part of this celebration.

Most European Union citizens do not require a visa to enter the country for their holiday. Stays of 6 months are permitted with the presentation of a valid passport, an onward or return ticket, and accommodation confirmation.

Whether you choose to enjoy what the resorts in Antigua and Barbuda can offer or you prefer a more rustic holiday, you’ll find this island destination offers fun, relaxation, and few barriers to enjoy them. Plan your stay today and you’ll find your trip to be quite rewarding.
